A disappointed artist

Your site is clearly very well and lovingly crafted, which is why I am so disappointed in the prevalence of AI images & gifs across your void.
I was so hopeful to explore such a popular neocities site, only to be immediately greeted by an ugly, obviously AI-generated title graphic on the home page
The more of your site I explored, the more slop I came across.
I read that you have a self-hosted image generator, but that does not excuse the countless stolen artworks used to train stable-diffusion and other models before users self-host instances of them.
I know this criticism is unlikely to make you rethink using AI-generated media in your site, but I felt it had to be acknowledged.
At the very least, you should include some sort of disclaimer on your site's home page or FAQ section to make future visitors aware of this.
Citing some sources in your astronomy blog posts would also be helpful in verifying the information you present, seeing as you are not above using LLMs.
Thank you for reading.

I can understand what you trying to tell. For me as a programmer the AI is just a tool, like for example compiler: You input something and it outputs something else. I can see you as an artist probably have no good experience of companies stealing art works. I'm not an artist, so my thinking may not be aligned with yours, but I see it this way: The damage is done. It doesn't depends if you use the tool or not now. The AI isn't going away anyways (even if the bubble bursts). The only responsible think we can do is using the local stuffs, so big companies have no financial reasons to continue scraping art works. Tho, I'll probably write some disclaimer at my website, that's a good idea.
I would also encourage you to watch this video: what the creator of Linux Kernel says about the AI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIZPuhzy0YU
